Travelers A Hostel, Seoul Sept 2008

This is by far the most modern hostel that I've ever stayed. The hostel is located only a minute walk from the subway station. It's in an alley that is full of shops and at night if you come back late, around 11pm, it can be quite scary to walk through the dark and quiet lane. It's kind of weird to see such a modern hostel in an alley.

The left picture is what you see when you turn into the alley after the subway and the right picture is outside the hostel. The hostel map is quite confusing and difficult to follow. Actually, once you come out from the Exit 4 of Euljiro 4 station, walk straight ahead. Turn right at the 2nd alley (that's the left pic). You will see a Korean restaurant on your left and another restaurant called Woo Lae Oak next to it. Walk till the end of the road (reverse side of my walking direction in pic 1) and turn left. You will see the road in pic 2. The hostel is on your left.

That's the lobby with colourful tables and chairs. They provide two pcs with free internet access. There is also water dispenser and free coffee and tea. Oh yes, the hostel also allows a 3 minutes free international call per night for each guest. Impressive isn't it?

This overlooks the backyard from the hostel. The hostel does not have a lift and we have to drag our luggage up. Luckily we were staying at 2nd floor.

The room is very clean, although not very spacious. It has a flat screen TV, a safe deposit box and a mini fridge. The room is air-conditioned.

The toiletries provided by them. The hostel corridor outside the room.

Incheon Airport Guesthouse, Seoul Sept 2008

This is Incheon Aiport Guesthouse. It's about 5 minutes drive from the Incheon Int'l Airport. This hostel provides free return airport transfer. You just need to give them a call upon arrival and they will pick you up from the airport. The staffs are very friendly and acommodating. However, there is nothing to do at the hostel as there are no lobby and no interesting shops nearby. There is a mini market downstairs and a few restaurants that are very pricey.

The room is very spacious and clean. I am surprised that the room is actually equipped with hair dryer, TV, fridge, microwave, washing machine and a stove. It looks more like an apartment than a hostel and it is really worth the value if you intend to stay longer.

That's the view from the hostel room. The airport is right opposite. It's a good place for an overnight stay during your transit flight.
